Big Brother is watching you?

According to an article on the BBC, the idea that Big Brother is watching you could well become a reality and it could well turn out to be your big brother, if you have one that is.

A website called Internet Eyes is allowing, for a small fee, members of the public access to live streams from CCTV cameras and offer rewards should you manage to prevent a crime from being committed.  The question is, is the system going to be open to potential abuse?

America following Britain’s lead?

According to a recent online article, President Obama wants to be able to monitor and access the Internet activity of every American citizen,  the bill is due to be introduced to Congress next year and appears to have a lot in common with an act already in use within the United Kingdom, namely the Regulation of Investigatory Powers Act 2000.

This act allows government departments the right to monitor and access an individuals Internet activity and, if deemed necessary, force an individual to decrypt any files they may have encrypted.
